Information:

Despite having a lot of success with Void v8.0, I really wasn't happy with it. While I really liked the new shape of the front, the drive was really bad, and by the end of it's third event it was barely moving at all. I do still like the idea of doing some kind of tracks, and will revisit the idea in the future, but I decided I'd rather Void v9.0 be simpler so that I would have something reliable to fall back on.

As mentioned previously, I really liked how the hybrid scoop/dustpan worked for controlling enemies, and so I designed the front of this version to be very similar. Beyond that, however, this version is fairly simple, with the intention being that there'd be nothing fancy to go wrong. Indeed, thus far in competition it's lived up to that, although unfortunately has not seen as much success as it's predecessor, however that's mainly down to bad driving.

I'll be keeping this version running until I manage to design the next version, which will have a lot of the features that I tried to incorporate into Void 8.0, such as a grabbing mechanism in the lifter and tracks that actually work.
